about

This song is a rocking and fun tune that's a loose biography of me & my history with music & singing and playing guitar.

lyrics

EVERYBODY ON YOUR FEET

V1
I remember being a kid playing in my room, my dad playing Willy Nelson tunes
That’s about the time I heard my first Beatles song
Music was always in the air, as a teenage I grew my hair
That’s when I first answered my battle call
I asked, “Mom, can you give me a ride to town?”, the local music store’s where I was bound, that’s where I picked up my first guitar
I played it loud, I played it strong, but back then I was playing it wrong
But it didn’t stop me from thinking I was gonna be a star

Chorus
Everybody get on your feet, put your hands up in the air, start swaying to the beat / Everybody get on your feet, music’s in the air, start dancing to the beat
/ Everybody get on your feet (repeats)

V2
At 18 I started a rockin’ band, you know things were going right as planned
Jagger and the Stones were gonna have to share the stage
Cause we were rocking every night, moving town to town, walking up to doors, and blowing them right down, me and the boys, we were all the rage
Turned 21, was feeling in my prime, pretty soon we were gonna hit the big time, was having fun & fun was all I need
Cause a record company man walked up to me, say, “I love your music, now sign here please”, & me and the boys were gonna make a hit CD

Chorus

V3
Well I’m older now, though I still feel young & I’m still playing my music & singing my songs & I’m a simple man, knew the big time wasn’t for me
I get together with my friends & we play our tunes, play our Beatles & Hendrix & Zeppelin & Stones & we laugh & think about what we used to be
See the music’s in my soul, so there’s nothing to decide, there’s nowhere I could run or nowhere I could hide, see that old guitar always knows how to set me free

Chorus
